RE; INLET PUBLISHING

INLET PUBLISHING was started Spring 2023 byDiana m Davidson CM, LLb,Bed(elem)   and Mark Battersby (PhD. Philosophy Emeritus Capilano College) when they realized that we were evidently going to go on living  so there was still lots of time to start up their own publishing company.  One of our daughters has agreed to take over Inlet Publishing when we are no longer able to handle it, so those submitting manuscripts need not fear that their work might be neglected due to our age.

BackgroundDiana has written since learning to read  She has worked in many occupations, child care, servant, server, short order cook, half owner/logging truck driver, choker- setter and welder of a ruinously unsuccessful gypo logging show; as a teacher of little children, of English as a Second Language, as lawyer for many years; also growing plants and selling them out her back gate.  Founder of Vancouver Peoples Law School, activist re Gay rights and women’s rights, re municipal issues etc., as a TV actress and script writer, and as mother and Grandmother of a large family.

Mark taught at Capilano College as it then was for forty years meanwhile working with some others to develop Critical Thinking as a discipline and as a teaching tool both in people’s personal and work lives and in the K to 12 system and in Colleges and Universities.  His own work and that with his colleague, Sharon Bailin, are now widely read and influential internationally.

Together Diana and Mark have raised a large family, dealt with the many responsibilities that that entailed, They boated for years.  Starting off in a canoe, moving on to near dead inflatables which were kept alive in some cases only by Mark steadily pumping air in as it just as steadily leaked air out.  Then kayaks and a decent zodiac which they travelled all the same waters that later they did in the wooden boat, the Liza Jane described in the first two books in the Coastal stories series.
